Photosweeper view locked photos12/7/2023 Removing these can be even more effective than removing duplicate photos, as one video can take up several megabytes by itself. These duplicate videos will be listed in the Duplicates folder. If you are deleting individual photos, remember to empty your Recently Deleted folder.Īdditionally, Photos will also automatically find and sort duplicate videos using the same system as above. To remove duplicates using the Photos App, open Photos, select Duplicates and click Merge Items. It also gives you the option to delete one, several, or all of the duplicate photos, keeping your hard drive clean from excess photo clutter. This allows for very organized, effortless, and easy management of any duplicate photos you might have. Photos will now automatically find duplicate and similar photos, place them in chronological order by the date they were taken, and put them in the Duplicates folder. Among the many new features, that came with Ventura, one of the most underrated was the addition of the Duplicates folder in the Photos App. If you have installed macOS 13, removing duplicate photos in the Photos App will be incredibly easy, and useful for freeing up significant amounts of storage space. RELATED: Best Duplicate File Finder Apps for Mac for High Efficiency Ventura and later: remove duplicates using the Photos app But how do you do it? Well, we think this quick guide may help. So, what’s the solution? Well, besides cleaing up system data, regularly removing duplicate files would certainly help you, and it’s certainly the way to go in 2023 as you would want a much cleaner and quicker Mac this year. So, even thinking of finding duplicate images on a drive can give you nightmares. Even if you have, say a hundred photos, that can easily take an hour or so. However, it’s not easy to manually scan an entire photo album and find out the duplicate files. Things get pretty worse if you have a Mac - where storage space is an expensive affair. They take too much space, mess up your file organization, and even cost you money. You might even go to 30K or 100K-it’s unlikely, though not impossible, that images that small will be photos you’re looking for, as opposed to graphics associated with documents or help files.Even if you are not a professional photographer, duplicate photos are a pain in the ass. Go back to the field (see Step 8 to show criteria), and then change Name to File Size, Is Greater Than, and enter a small number, like 3 next to the KB popup. I had you leave the Name field in place earlier above where you set up the Any criteria. I’ve found that a lot of apps embed or download HTML-based help files, so many tiny images can be associated with them. You can probably shave down which images you want by excluding very small ones. On my Mac, this search produces 171,499 images, and dragging and dropping that many images can cause the system to rainbow-spin for a long time or even lock up. You can create a smart folder that grabs all images indexed by Spotlight. Drag the selection to the new destination. In the results window, click and then press Command-A or choose File > Select All.Set up the destination to which you want to copy all images, like a folder or hard drive. You can click the Action (gear) menu and choose Show Search Criteria to display them.) (When you click Save after naming, the criteria disappear and the Smart Folder icon and name appear the top of the window. Name it something like “Find all images by type”. Click the Save button in the upper right so you can recall these criteria if something goes wrong.Repeat step 6 for GIF and PNG (and BMP, if you think you have any of that format, primarily used in Windows).Click the + at the end of that line, and create a field with Kind, Image, and TIFF.Under Any, change the pop-up buttons to Kind, Image, and JPEG.Any is the right selection, so you can leave that alone. The ellipsis button creates an Any of the Following Are True entry, which is what you need to have multiple criteria for images in a single search. Now hold down the Option key, and the plus button in the upper right next to the entry that was created (which starts “Name” and “matches”) changes to an ellipsis (…).In the upper-right corner, click the plus (+) button.Press Command-Option-spacebar to create a Finder Spotlight search window. You have to go through a little rigamarole to get the fields you need: The simplest way to do this with Spotlight is via a Finder-based search, for which you can create a Smart Folder to repeat it later without losing the window settings.

Sometimes, documents are bound with an additional clear or colourful plastic sheet at the front and a black cover at the back. Finally, it is crimped at both ends to keep the papers in place. This process is done either by hand or by an automated coil inserter. Once the pages that need binding are punched through and correctly aligned, the coil is inserted and twisted through the evenly-spaced holes. This coil closely resembles an old telephone cord. The spiral bind utilises a spring-shaped wire coil made of metal. It’s a binding method most of us love and are familiar with since our school or college days. Cup quart pint gallon12/7/2023 In the United States, a single serving of beer or cider is commonly referred to as a “pint” due to this historical association with the liquid measure however, US law defines it as being equal to 16 US fluid ounces (14 Imperial fluid ounces). In some jurisdictions it continued to be a measure of 1⁄2 quart (473 ml), while in others it has been set at 500 ml or 600 ml by statutory definition. It was originally defined as a measure containing 8 to 10 ounces (226-283 grams) and was later standardized at 16 fluid ounces (473 milliliters) throughout the English-speaking world in 1824, although it substantially varied in different countries and locations. Historically, many different volumes have been associated with the unit pint. The pint is one of the oldest units of measurement still in use and dates back to medieval England. Understanding how many cups are in a pint can help you accurately measure out ingredients for a wide variety of preparations. In the United States, the customary pint usually measures about 16 fluid ounces however, it can also be either 15 or 18 fluid ounces depending on location. It can often be found in recipes from other nations and can be used to measure spirits and beer as well as ingredients for cooking. The imperial pint is an easily recognizable volume used in many different countries throughout the world. In both of these systems, it is equal to two cups, four gills, sixteen ounces (one pound), or thirty-two tablespoons. Gallon to Liter (L): 1 gallon = 3.785 LĪ pint is a unit of measurement used in the imperial system and United States customary systems. It’s important to know these conversions before making recipes that call for larger amounts of liquid ingredients. When it comes to measuring liquid ingredients, understanding how many cups are in a pint, quart and gallon can be helpful. Ml, Cups, Pints, Liters, Quarts, And Gallon Conversions In the UK and imperial system, one pint is equal to 20 fluid ounces (or 2.4 cups). In the United States, one pint is equal to 16 fluid ounces (or two cups). When it comes to pints and cups, there are two different systems of measure that you should be aware of. Knowing how to convert between the two can be extremely useful when measuring ingredients or preparing drinks and meals. Pints and cups are two of the most commonly used units of measurement for liquid volume. You can’t make any changes as per your wishes like you used to go while cooking, one wrong cup of something, and your cake or donut get spoiled! So, to ensure that you don’t make any mistakes and can go for bang confidently, we are including a great summary!ĭownload High Resolution Version by WishandGreet If you’re not going for these two, then you can pour 8 pints. So, coming to a gallon, which I say is the largest one to measure liquid since it is equal to 16 cups, noting that if you want to add 16 cups of milk or any liquid to any utensil, what you can do is pour one gallon (Gal) or the way is to pour 4 quarts. Since pint is half of a liter, a quart is double of it which makes a quart to be equal to One liter, and to be more precise, A quart is equal to 946.3529 liters. Note: A Quart is basically a quarter of a gallon! So this actually makes your life much easier when you don’t know the measurements and you for pouring 8 cups which again wastes your time and sometimes, you forget how many cups you poured before and then it leads to confusion and errors! Letterkenny Quotes How many cups are there in a quart?īasically, when we’re talking about a Quart, we should have this thing in mind that just like other apparatuses, a quart is a way to measure liquid as well! A quart is equal to 4 cups of any liquid which means that if you’re following a recipe that makes you pour 8 cups of milk in the bowl, you can simply pour two quarts in the bowl or if not, then you can pour 4 pints of milk in it.

Star night light12/7/2023 So a magnitude 1.0 star is 2.512 times brighter than a magnitude 2.0 star, and so on. The magnitude scale’s multiplicative factor is about 2.512. Although this logarithmic scaling (in which each tier is a multiplicative factor fainter than the one preceding it) may be counterintuitive, it is actually quite convenient: a linear scale encompassing the enormous range of stellar brightness would require far too many tiers to be useful. Outside of astronomers, however, the magnitude scale sees little use-perhaps because it’s confusingly nonlinear! In other words, a magnitude 1.0 star is not six times brighter than a magnitude 6.0 star but rather brighter by a factor of 100. This was the true origin of the magnitude scale, which astronomers still use today. A few centuries later, another Greek astronomer, Ptolemy, attempted to classify stars using a six-tier scale, assigning the brightest stars to the first tier and the faintest ones to the sixth. The first person we know did this was Greek polymath Hipparchus, who created a star map noting the brightness of various stars more than two millennia ago. And astronomers, being scientists, decided they had to quantify it in other words, throw math at it. This varying visibility of stars is so obvious you may not have given it much thought.Īstronomers, however, think about it a lot. A handful are so bright that you can easily see them even in a big city’s washed-out sky, while others are so faint that they’re invisible unless you’re stargazing on a moonless night from an essentially light-pollution-free locale ( if you can find one). One of the most obvious things about looking at stars in the sky is that they’re not all the same brightness.

Tip 2: if the ripped DVD movie is too large for your device, considering to cut the unnecessary parts with the editing features, like the commercials in the middle, or black bars, or lower the resolution etc. The only downside is the lack of telephone or live chat customer support, but apart from that it’s a great little program that will suit more advanced users of media conversion software or GoPro fans.Tip 1: For those who don't know much about the formats or codec thing, you are suggested to rip DVD to MP4, it has good quality and relatively small file size, and it's widely accepted by mobiles, players, online sites. Movavi Video Converter can be bought separately or as part of a suite that includes a video editor and screen recorder. UniConverter costs $39.95 for a one-year subscription or $69.95 for a lifetime license for one PC, while the family license is also more expensive, covering up to five PCs for $99.95. It’s popular with many users, from digital marketers and professional video editors to social media creatives. WonderShare UniConverter is more expensive than VideoProc, but the customer support is better, with live chat, phone, and email options. VideoProc processes all types of large and multi-format media, including smartphone, drone, action cam, tablet, PC, and 4K/HD/Ultra-HD videos. The screen recorder is simple to use and offers recording modes that are useful for creating different types of videos. This feature enables you to record your screen or webcam, as well as draw, type, highlight, or add voiceover to your footage. It is impressive how much of a difference this makes to processing speed, so VideoProc gets big kudos here. Processing video is a power-hungry task, and VideoProc offers GPU acceleration to enable fast editing and transcoding, while still keeping output video quality high. Below, though, we’ll focus on the areas where VideoProc really stands out. There’s not a lot of creative features like overlays or fancy fonts, but there is a small effects library that allows you to add vignettes or do lens correction. VideoProc has a few basic editing tools, such as trim, mirror, flip merge, and subtitles. Breaking habits app12/6/2023 According to Gollwitzer’s research, it’s more effective to use “if-then” statements - ones that contain a specific situation and a specific response. Setting an open-ended goal typically isn’t enough to break a habit. Simply planning in advance how you want to react to the situation that usually triggers your bad habit might be enough to create a change, said Peter Gollwitzer, Ph.D., a New York University psychology professor conducting research on the relationship between plans and behavior. The ‘if-then’ methodĪnother approach to breaking bad habits is to pre-program an alternative response to the behavior you want to change. Both Kush and Elliott suggested picking something small that can be experienced immediately - such as a piece of chocolate - instead of a bigger prize that takes longer to earn. Offering yourself a reward can help you properly respond to triggers, Duhigg explained. If you find yourself frequently checking social media at work, for example, figure out why: Do you want to feel connected to the outside world? Then, substitute something else for the habit, such as browsing an industry website, suggested Kush. The next step is to replace the bad habit with a better action. Identifying the cue and the reward, Elliott said, “will give you more power to change the routine.” You may not be able to change the cue, but you can work on how you react. Is there a cue that tells your brain to do it? Or is there a certain time of day when it occurs? Then, think about what makes the habit rewarding for you. Figure out what leads you to perform the bad habit, Duhigg wrote in his book. “Becoming aware of the habit and committing to doing something different gives you the power to change it,” said Elliott, co-founder of Intend2Lead, a company focused on innovating leadership development for CPAs.Įxamine the trigger and reward. To try Duhigg’s method of breaking habits, follow these steps: Kush and Sarah Elliott, CPA, drew upon his work when they presented on the topic of breaking bad habits at the 2017 EDGE Experience in New Orleans. In the 2012 best-seller, author Charles Duhigg explained why habits exist, how they function, and what to do about them. One way to kick a bad habit is to study a process popularized by the publication of The Power of Habit. You might talk too much at meetings or arrive late to appointments, harming your career. They’re “something that you do consistently that blocks you from reaching your goals or from reaching your potential,” said Brian Kush, CPA, an executive leadership coach and co-founder of Intend2Lead. But how?īad habits can be more serious than biting your nails or forgetting to take out the trash. She realized that taking her smartphone to bed with her was the culprit and vowed to change. Becca Shane, CPA, CGMA, director of finance at Hamilton Place Strategies in Washington, D.C., had a problem: She wasn’t sleeping well, which led her to have “a shorter fuse,” affecting the way she communicated and interacted with friends, family members, and colleagues. |
